Custom Homes and ADUs, Built From the Ground Up
CDL Construct has been building homes across the Seacoast since 1970. We build custom homes, accessory dwelling units (ADUs), additions, garages and remodels for homeowners in New Hampshire, Southern Maine and Northeastern Massachusetts.
We do the site work with our own machines and crew, so the same team that digs your foundation frames and finishes your home. You deal with the owners directly, from the first site walk to the final walkthrough.

What Homeowners Say
★★★★★
“Conrad, Ari, and Jackson built out a shed dormer for us that transformed the space above our garage from a room you wouldn't want to be in to a room you wouldn't want to leave. … They finished the project on budget and a month faster than planned.”
Henry H.

“They transformed our downstairs from an eyesore to an area that we are delighted to live in. Ours was a large renovation with a lot of moving parts. Conrad managed all of the parts and was quick to address any questions we had.”

Homeowner FAQ
Do you build on land I already own?
Yes. We'll walk the lot with you, handle the site work, and build your home on it.
Can you help if I don't have plans yet?
Yes. Our in-house design help can get you from an idea to buildable plans, working with an engineer where needed.
What is an ADU?
An accessory dwelling unit is a second, self-contained home on the same property, with its own kitchen, bathroom and entrance. It can be a detached cottage, an apartment over a garage, or a suite attached to the main house.
Can I build an ADU on my property?
New Hampshire, Maine and Massachusetts have all made ADUs easier to build in recent years, but each town still sets its own rules on size, parking and setbacks. We check your town's rules during the site walk, before any design work starts.
Why build an ADU?
To give aging parents or grown kids their own space nearby, to add rental income, or to have a guest house. It also adds value to your property.
Can we live in the house during an addition or remodel?
Usually, yes. We close off the work area and keep the rest of the house livable, and we clean up at the end of each day.
Where do you build?
Seacoast New Hampshire, Southern Maine, Massachusetts' North Shore and the Merrimack Valley, including Kittery, York, Portsmouth, New Castle, Exeter, Stratham, Newburyport and Andover.
